More Entries For The Show

Another entry for the EconoBike build off. I’ll let Aaron do the talking.

Here’s a few pics. Also alittle back ground info. I got the bike in a Craigslist barter.I traded a broke welder for the bike. Welder value maybe $100. So far i might be in it for $300 total once my parts come in from FedEx this week.
Bike: 1973 Honda CL450
Engine: SOHC 750

The other bike is a mini-chop. All parts built from scratch. Except the motor and wheels. The funny thing is i have more in it than i do the Honda

Help A Builder Out

This comment was posted on an earlier entry, I wanted to repost to see if anyone could help:

Anyone have some laced wheels that will fit my SR500?
Kinda rusty is ok if straight.
OEM faux Lester 7 spoke cast wheels available.

(I want to run the stock disc brake)

If you can help Eddy out, leave a comment on this post and you all can work it out.

Best of luck with your build Eddy, let us know how it turns out!

What Does $169 Buy Today?

How about an amazing, hard-tailed XS400? I’m serious.

$100 purchase for the bike. $69 in materials and parts, some raiding of the scrap bin, and “borrowing” from your daughters bicycle leads to this beauty you see before you!

It’s even got a Harley tank!

This is exactly what the EconoBike Build Off is about!

If you’re thinking about entering, email us!

A Taste Of What We Like…

Just to get your creative juices flowing, here’s a taste of one of the entrants in the show (and a little high dollar contrast)

We’ll see you on the 16th at 1105 North 4th Street, Columbus Ohio, 43201

The Econo Bike Build Off

It’s official: The first annual Econo Bike Build Off is off and running. As you can see, we’ve tried to make finding information as easy as possible. With the menu bar.

The goal of the show is simple: To prove that hard work is greater than money, and amazing motorcycles can be built by everyday people. Because of that driving ideal, the total cost involved is $500.

Five Hundred Dollars.

Buy a bike, engine, tires, paint and whatever else is needed to build a bike that runs. It doesn’t have to run well, and it’s doubtful it will be street legal. Who cares?! It’s about the build!

Awards!

Awards? We’ve got them.

There are the standards:

Best In Show – Overall winner

People’s Choice – Voted on by the attendees

And then, there are the unique to the Econo Bike Build Off

Cheap as S*%T – Least amount of money spent

Cool as F%&K - Determined entirely by the judges

The Sweetawesome Award - The bike voted the best by the builders themselves.

If you want to win an award you have to register for the build. And bring a bike (with a motor, points for creativity though). Email us your name and how many bikes you’re going to enter. That’s it!
